New destination website for community park and the surrounding areas.
Being at the heart of our own community, we love getting involved with community-based projects such as a new site build for an area of natural beauty. The River Wandle is just that, running through four South London boroughs and incorporating a wide range of green spaces, historic buildings and locations, as well as a variety of environmental projects and activity sites. To support the creation of the Wandle Valley Park, a new site was required to help visitors understand and discover what the Wandle Valley has to offer.
Working closely with key stakeholders that represented various organisations, we helped design and build a new online knowledge portal for various user groups to access more information on the region. The site design was an extension of the newly created Wandle Valley branding and used various silhouettes and graphical elements that represented the diversity that the Wandle Valley has to offer. At the heart of the site is an interactive map where users could filter by category and location to help them easily understand what is happening at any given time.
As a result of the new design and structure of the site, users have had more access to historical content, which in turn has increased the awareness of the Wandle Valley. We opted for a clean design, and this coupled with easy to use navigation and the website’s interactive elements have made it a simple-to-use website for all. Because of this, more users have been able to access greater levels of content about the various parks and activities on offer to them.
